Why is it crucial to monitor your baby's vital signs?
1) It's important to keep a close eye on your baby's Blood Oxygen Saturation Rate (SpO2) and ensure optimal breathing and oxygen delivery to their organs and tissues to give your baby the best chance for healthy development. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)* states that newborns will have saturations in the normal range of 95% to 100%.
2) You also need to monitor baby's Heart Rate (PR) and track any irregularities or discomfort in baby's heart rate to take proactive measures to safeguard your baby's heart health. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), the normal heart rate for newborns is typically between 100 and 190 beats per minute (bpm).*
